Camera Test for Phones and Laptops — Front and Rear
Phones and tablets usually have several cameras. This page lists the ones your browser can see and lets you switch between them, which is the fastest way to confirm that the front camera, the rear camera and any wide-angle lenses all still work.
Quick answer: Press Start camera, allow access, then use the camera dropdown to switch between front and rear. Each camera should show a live image when selected. If one camera is black while the others work, the fault is that module or its connection — a common failure after a drop or water damage.

Testing every camera on a phone
Open the dropdown: browsers expose the front camera, the rear camera, and on some devices the ultra-wide and telephoto modules as separate entries. Select each one and give it a second to start. Check for a live image, sensible colours and a steady frame rate. Front cameras are usually mirrored in the preview, which is normal and is not a fault — the recorded image is not mirrored.
If a camera stays black on mobile
Close other apps that use the camera, then reload. On iPhone, camera access in Safari requires a per-site permission that some in-app browsers do not offer — if you opened this page inside a social app, open it in the system browser instead. A single dead module while others work is a hardware fault; a camera that fails in every app on the device is worth a service visit.
